Job description / Role
Role Summary:
Project Management/Planning/Coordinating activities typically in the context of a grid software services project to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
All activities related to the supervision, organization and execution of a service project, including scope, time, contract (if not covered by a dedicated Contract Manager) cost & quality management within a matrix organization. Responsibility for project methodologies and standards including scheduling and control, to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction. Participates in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions. Develops the year plan for the larger unit. Presents product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders (EB and SEB) across GE and with customers.
Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a Science, Engineering, or Project/Business Management qualification. Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in Services - Project or Business Management. Strong financial acumen including the management of revenue, cost, and cash collection. Writing and reviewing proposals including the preparation of scopes of work for the delivery of grid based solutions. International operations experience along with the building of cross cultural and virtual teams. Demonstrated experience in the improvement of operational efficiencies in Software and IT delivery programs. Coaching/mentoring to foster the improvement of software engineering teams. Experience with hiring staff from technical colleges or universities. Demonstrated implementation/integration experience of software solutions for the electrical grid including distributed management systems (DMS) and geographic information systems (GIS).
