Job description / Role

Kanoo Travel is pleased to announce that we are looking to hire a Senior Consultant for our MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) department in Dubai. We are looking for an energetic and customer focused MICE Consultant with a proven track record in meetings & event management.
Core Responsibilities:
• Venue Sourcing, negotiation and contracting.
• Logistics and Budget Management - Pre & Post event.
• Onsite Management (as and when required).
Job responsibilities:
• The candidate will mainly be responsible for providing consultative support to our clients.
• Responsible for providing a strategic direction & consultation to the meeting requester to influence a high quality, cost effective meeting project plan.
• Must make recommendations that satisfy meeting specifications and requirements.
• Venue sourcing using client preferred venue program, proposal creation and presentation.
• Venue liaison with the supplier and negotiation with the venue for the best rates and terms and conditions of the client.
• Contract and commission negotiation and finalization with the client.
• Responsible for budget management, project planning, coordination and execution.
• Management of the engagement of third-party suppliers and the DMC.
• Will be required to travel to customer office or on-site locations for liaison of meetings.
• Must delegate management – including the travel arrangements for the guests with concerned departments.
• Responsible for the signage and meeting materials management.
• Must play an active role budget management and reconciliation.
• Online and offline attendee’s registration maintenance and management.
• Event data management and documents management throughout the life cycle of the event.
• Responsible for client billing and payments to suppliers.
Requirements
Skills and qualifications required:
• The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of proven track record and experience in the meetings & event management industry and prior experience in arranging meeting/ events/ exhibitions.
• A minimum educational requirement of a Bachelors / Master’s degree in Travel & Tourism would be preferred.
• Must hold a valid UAE driver’s license, as you may be required to go on-site or travel to client office for meetings (as and when required).
• Prior experience in the GCC would be preferred with local knowledge of MICE industry
• Candidate must be presentable and have a pleasing personality.
• Arabic speaking candidates will be preferred for the role.
• You must have very good negotiation skills.
• Must have excellent interpersonal relation skills and be very customer focused.
About the Company
Established in 1890, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo (YBA Kanoo) started from a humble trading and shipping enterprise founded in Bahrain by Haji Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo. From Bahrain, the business spread to Saudi Arabia in the 1930s.

One of the first industries that Kanoo excelled at was shipping. No one could have predicted that it would challenge the monopoly of long established British companies and goes on to become the largest regional shipping agency in the Middle East. Kanoo Shipping is one of the founders of S5 Agency World Ltd. and was the first Arab shipping agency in the region in 1911. At present, Kanoo Shipping operates in 20 countries and in all principal ports and offshore tanker loading terminals around the Arabian Peninsula, including Iraq. It handles 11,000 port calls every year which covers all ports in the Suez to India range.
The historic rise of Kanoo Travel has proven similarly impressive. The group's interest in travel started in 1937 when the company used to provide refueling facilities for Imperial Airline sea-planes en route to India and Australia. In 1947, Kanoo Travel became the first IATA agency in the Gulf and became the very first travel company in the Middle East to receive the ISO certification in 1997.
The Group's another success story began in mid-1960s. Kanoo Machinery used to supply construction and material handling equipment in the region. At that time, the UAE was just setting up its oil and gas industry and developing its infrastructure. By providing the government and private sectors with world-class equipment and services, Kanoo Machinery helped lay down the foundations of the vital sectors of UAE's economy.
