Overview of the role

As a store manager at Watsons, you will lead your team to deliver unparalleled customer service and operational execution, aiming for sustainable sales growth and profitability. You will utilize your communication skills and sales acumen to influence and drive team performance, while ensuring compliance with high standards and enhancing the customer experience.

What you will do

Profit financial
  • Drive, monitor, and review sales performance; recommend action plans to achieve sales budget at store level.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with selling personnel to update category performance; recommend improvements.
  • Implement strategies and ensure 100% execution of programs to achieve sales targets for exclusive products.
  • Manage and control store-approved OPEX budgets and optimize controllable expenses.
  • Achieve shrinkage budget below tolerance level through daily monitoring of retail operating standard compliance.
  • Recommend and initiate plans to optimize store controllable expenses.
Commercial
  • Check and review display implementation and ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Manage and ensure consistent, accurate inventory adjustments and compliance with standards.
  • Ensure exceptional customer shopping experience and handle product queries professionally.
  • Drive loyalty member programs and initiatives to achieve target transactions participation.
  • Employ selling techniques to achieve target conversion/transaction rate; cascade promotions effectively.
  • Verify execution of promotional and store activities, ensuring proper implementation.
Process
  • Communicate and implement policies, brand standards, grooming guidelines, and internal control procedures per SOP.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and system understanding; monitor store controllable expenses.
  • Supervise loss prevention, asset protection, and risk management; be accountable for inventory management.
  • Liaise with mall management and handle store documentation appropriately.
  • Perform cashiering duties and ensure retail standard operations.
People
  • Plan and monitor personal development plans and in-role development interventions.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor team learning interventions.
  • Review and discuss performance appraisal and personal plans of direct reports.
  • Implement action plans for employee engagements and competency building.
  • Ensure completion and discussion of performance reviews.

What qualifies you for the role

  • Bachelor or master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in retail and team management within the beauty sector.
  • Good knowledge of the beauty industry and trends, along with retail operational skills (stock management, visual merchandising, systems, cash handling).
  • Strong computer skills, management skills, and people development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated empathy, customer service orientation, and results-oriented approach.
  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities, excellent relationship skills.
  • Integrity, trust, adaptability in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Proactivity, good team spirit, and initiative-taking.
