Strategic Talent Consultant - EY Africa, India & Middle East Advisory

EY AIM Advisory is a newly established region that offers borderless Advisory services to our clients across Africa, India and the Middle East. These borderless services will help EY clients benefit from streamlined, cross-border sector specific advice, facilitating greater growth and efficiency across these three markets.

We have created a leadership team that will provide our clients’ access to over 7,000 consultants and 280 Partners in EY member firms, based in 50 countries. As a part of this diverse and talented group of individuals, you’ll play a vital role in EY’s success on creating a sense of identity for the combined AIM business and shaping a team-driven culture.

The Opportunity

As member of the AIM Executive team, you will drive the alignment, integration and co-ordination of AIM Talent initiatives in conjunction with the Regions and Service Lines (Global and EMEIA). You will provide commercial people-related advice and guidance to leadership and management, focusing on the core Talent building blocks to ensure future AIM success from a commercial and culture perspective.

Your key responsibilities
• Identify and implement cross-Region change efforts to actively shape the AIM culture, including the development of a people engagement strategy that emphasizes the AIM purpose and objectives;
• Actively manage stakeholder relationships with Global and EMEIA Advisory in order to secure the AIM Advisory seat at the table (which is essentially a combined emerging markets view);
• Oversight of the Talent lifecycle deployed through Advisory Talent Leaders in the Regions in order to drive consistency of experience for our people and avoid duplication where possible;
• Work with Global Mobility to shape the mobility strategy, proposition and costing model for AIM Advisory in order for Regions to implement;
• Develop strong working relationships with the Regional Talent Leaders to influence the Advisory agenda in conjunction with their Regional plans;
• With the Executive team, create a sense of identity for the combined AIM business;
• Influence partner behaviors and, with the AIM Leader, establish the spirit of partnership and teaming across the c.280 partners ;
• With Brand Marketing Communications team, develop and implement a change and communications plan across AIM that helps our people to find a sense of belonging and recognize their career opportunities ;
• Assist Region Leaders and Talent Leaders in the adoption of upcoming Talent initiatives that can be used to positively impact the AIM culture ;
• Roll-up discussion of Regional activities that may be impacted by the creation of AIM (e.g. GPS; succession planning; independent career reviews; etc) with the intention of ensuring consistency of experience– implementation and initiation of the activity remains at Region level
• With the AIM Talent Sponsor, establish and help them to lead the way on a team-driven culture within the Executive Team;
• Work with Global/EMEIA Area/Advisory Learning to develop a strategy and future state for AIM Learning that works in service of the emerging markets and the AIM culture;
• Shape and influence Talent budget spend at an individual Region level to maximize impact of Talent initiatives across AIM.

• Commercial and pragmatic approach balanced with a high degree of sensitivity and discretion.
• Ability to be resilient, practical and a self-starter, comfortable with working on own and with teams.

Requirements

To qualify for the role you must have
• Previous experience working in a senior level role for a consulting firm or cross-border professional services organization;
• Expertise in all Human Resources domains;
• Exceptional communication skills to influence without authority; engage with senior stakeholders across countries and create a strong collaboration culture;
• Proven track record of effectively managing projects and multiple stakeholders simultaneously;
• Willingness to travel across the Africa, India and the Middle East as needed.

Ideally, you’ll also have
• Experience in working in or with Africa, India and the Middle East
• Detailed understanding of the consulting environment and the way the business operates
• Large-scale change management experience in the Human Resources field
