Who We Are

GSM Project is a pioneer in the design and production of visitor experiences. Founded in 1958 in Montreal, and currently with offices also in Singapore and Dubai, the firm notably created the experience for the observation deck at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, the galleries of the National Museum of Singapore, and the blockbuster touring exhibitions STAR WARSTM Identities and Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology.

GSM Project is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team that provides a complete range of services, including research, planning, design, technology development, content creation and production, multi-media installation, project management, and fabrication.

The Brief:
GSM Project is currently in a phase of growth and is in need of creating a more sophisticated business development structure. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Development, the Strategy and Business Development Manager is responsible for representing GSM and for leading the practical, day-to-day execution of sales-specific tasks. Requiring strong collaborative and task-oriented capabilities, the Strategy and Business Development Manager plays a leading role in securing new projects for GSM.

Define Middle East Region Sales Strategy:
• Conduct market research and analysis and develop an understanding of the market
• To develop and implement a sales strategy which will evolve and extend our client base and promote our services to new and existing markets
• Use the outcomes of this analysis to formulate sales strategy to develop relationships with existing clients to generate more business
• Monitor progress against key targets as outlined in the Business Development Sales Strategy
• Identify opportunities to extend client base within UAE
• Identification, implementation, and management of sales and development resources/tools and materials

Implement strategy:
• Formulate a sales strategy to develop business within UAE
• Attend exhibitions, trade shows, conferences and other general networking activities in order to raise the market profile of GSM in UAE
• Develop a long-term business relationship with clients

Proposal:
• Ownership, strategy creation, and direction of all GSM Proposals.
• Writing of proposals as necessary
• Analysis and reporting on proposals
• Coordination with all internal GSM teams (based in Dubai and Montreal) on proposal efforts

Requirements

• Analytical and strategic – an ability to think critically about a situation and determine a specific course forward for a particular result

• Curiosity - a genuine interest in new things, and specifically in design and experiences
• Collaborative and open mind-set to communicate and work with all GSM Project team members
• A capacity to synthesize and communicate content to collaborators

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience in service industry (creative specific an asset)
• Strong capabilities in written communication
• Experience with proposal writing
• Established quantitative capabilities and high-level of comfort with numbers
• Flexibility and open-mindedness in approach, with fundamental team and solution-based mind-set
• Fluency in English (must) and French (preferred), both written and spoken
• Computer programs: Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT), Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite (a plus), Slack, CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.)
