Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This role is responsible for contributing the economic development of Free Zone industry sectors by providing analytical and research support on a project-led basis.

Responsibilities:

Data collection and analysis.
• Collect data on economic performance of the Free Zone industry sectors from a wide range of complex and difficult data sources drawn from internal and external sources.
• Conduct desk-top research on industry and market trends and regulatory environment.
• Perform quantitative analysis to uncover the insights that support recommendations for the Economic development strategy and complex policy development projects.

Present analysis and conclusions effectively
• Capture key data and insights for the assigned topics of investigation using analytical tools such as Excel and produce summary findings for internal audiences using visual presentations, reports etc.
• Present data, insights and emerging conclusions at internal team meetings.

Build and maintain knowledge bases
• Create and maintain a map of knowledge sources (data custodian, systems, internal and external to the organisation) to support project teams in obtaining required data.
• Engage with and build effective relationships with information providers within and external to the organization e.g., other DTMFZA departments, other Government agencies, industry bodies etc.
• Where projects require, build effective excel spreadsheets for project data collection and analysis.

Project Support and Coordination
• Project coordination including arranging meetings, attending meetings, taking minutes and maintaining project documentation.
• Manage the timely planning, organising and execution of assigned work streams amidst high degrees of ambiguity.
• Manage working relationships with project stakeholders.

Stakeholder Relationships
• Communicate across relevant departments and with outsource partners to ensure smooth information flow so that issues are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.
• Support the Director - Industry Development Strategy in liaising with external stakeholders e.g., Government agencies, other Dubai Free Zone Authorities etc.

Policies, Processes and Procedures
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Day- to-day Operations
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

Reports
• Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately in compliance with the Authority’s requirements, policies and standards.

Continuous Improvements
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an analytical subject.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical role in a multi-disciplinary organization.
• Knowledge in one of the relevant sectors (e.g. Media, ICT) is a plus.
• Strong research and analytical skills and experience in using analytical tools such as Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong team player.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Arabic language skills are a plus
