Structural Design Engineer

Job description / Role

Job Responsibilities:

- Design, analyze, and construct structural elements of buildings and other structures.
- Develop structural plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Review shop drawings.
- Identify the discrepancies in the inputs and highlight the same to the lead engineer with details.
- Prepare design calculations in accordance to the project specifications, codes and design guidelines.
- Make connection design and sketches for the given loads.
- Verify the engineering drawings for the correct interpretation of the design details.
- To make spreadsheets for the repetitive calculation and validate with a manual calculation.
- To propose alternate better cost effective technical proposals and right kind of material for construction.
- Supervise construction and fabrication activities by random site / yard visits and make reports.

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and Masters Degree in Structural Engineering.
- 3 years of design experience.
- Knowledge in fabrication and erection activities.
- Must be well versed in STAAD PRO and strong knowledge of Steel Structures.
- Must have 5 years of UAE experience
- Able to work under pressure to achieve agreed deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ingenuity to unscramble the specifications.
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Be dignified and modest in explaining his work and the merits.
- Perform service only in the area of his competence and accept the limitations.
- Willingness to learn and scrupulous in work with professional ethics.
- Presence of mind and common sense.
