Job description / Role
We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer specializing in Steel Structures with a focus on Infrastructural, Industrial, Special, and High-End Steel Structures. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the structural aspects of projects, ensuring safety, functionality, and efficiency. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, and architects to produce optimized and technically sound designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform project technical assessments and structural analysis to propose optimal solutions.
- Prepare structural calculation models using engineering software, design calculations, and technical specifications.
- Provide input on project value engineering and resolve design-related issues.
- Liaise with project teams, consultants, and other designers to ensure alignment on technical and design matters.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to analyze soil conditions and ensure structural integrity.
- Perform structural assessments of existing structures and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Supervise drafting teams in preparing shop drawings and submittals.
- Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure material suitability and availability.
- Report to the Design & Engineering Department Manager on project progress.
- Attend meetings related to design and technical matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in structural design software such as Midas, SAP2000, Staad Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Revit, AutoCAD; knowledge of RFEM is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes, US and British design standards, as well as local engineering guidelines.
- Familiarity with best engineering practices, technical standards, and value engineering techniques.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office; programming experience is a plus.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently as a self-driven team player.
- UAE Driving License is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Steel Structure Engineering, particularly in Infrastructural and Industrial Steel Structures, as well as Special and High-End Structures.
- Proven ability to coordinate with project teams and manage structural design processes effectively.
- Experience in preparing design reports, structural analysis, and shop drawings.
Salary:
AED
15,000 to 17,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
