Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer specialized in concrete strengthening and structural modification works, holding a valid Dubai Municipality Structural Strengthening License. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and supervising structural strengthening solutions for existing structures in compliance with UAE standards and authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare structural assessments, design calculations, and method statements for concrete strengthening works.
- Design and review strengthening solutions including FRP systems, steel plate bonding, concrete jacketing, and other rehabilitation techniques.
- Conduct site inspections, load assessments, and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Coordinate with DM authorities, consultants, and project teams for approvals and technical clarifications.
- Ensure all strengthening works meet Dubai Municipality, UAE codes, and international standards.
- Prepare structural drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation for authority submissions.
- Supervise ongoing strengthening works and ensure safety, quality, and compliance at every stage.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and contractors during implementation.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Must hold a Dubai Municipality Structural Strengthening License.
- Successfully passed the DM Structural Engineer Exam.
- Minimum 5 years of UAE experience specifically in concrete strengthening and retrofit projects.
- Strong understanding of UAE codes, DM regulations, and international design standards (ACI, BS, Eurocode).
- Proficient in STAAD, ETABS, AutoCAD, and related structural design software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with consultants and authorities.
