Job description / Role
Structural Engineer (Hotel Project) – UAE
Linum Consult’s client is an international engineering consultancy currently seeking a Structural Engineer for a significant hotel construction project in Abu Dhabi.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing reports, designs and structural drawings
• Calculating loads and stresses
• Selecting suitable construction materials; bearing in mind cost and quality
• Providing technical advice to CAD designers/draftsmen
• Liaising with Architects to achieve constructability
• Providing regular reports on progress to the Project Manager
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
• At least 8-10 years’ experience in a similar role, working for consultancies
• Previous history of working on high-end hotel construction projects, or complex mixed-use building projects is essential
• Technical knowledge of ETABS software and demonstrable knowledge of American & British codes of construction
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, with any Arabic language skills a plus
