Accountable To

The job purpose of the Construction Supervisor is to support the Area Construction Manager across multiple projects to ensure the effective management and delivery of all CAPEX related construction activities for AD Ports to meet cost, schedule and quality requirements for each project assigned including:

- Managing contractors in the delivery of their respective scopes of work to meet quality, schedule and cost
- Reviewing, commenting and approving contractor’s construction deliverables to ensure that such deliverables appropriately govern the execution of the work within the contract.
- Monitoring contractor progress in the execution of their work to ensure the contract scope is being executed in a timely manner to achieve the contract milestones
- Managing the contractors to minimise risk of Health, Safety & Environmental incident or issue with the goal being to manage with a “Zero Accidents” philosophy
- Construction issue resolution
- Interface coordination between different contractors on the project, including contractors appointed by 3 rd party stakeholders
- Inspection of completed portions of the work to verify construction completion prior to transfer of responsibilities to the Handover
- Inspection requirements

Requirements

Core Responsibilities when named in a Project Execution Plan for the project:

- Supporting the provision of construction input into the development of cost & schedule estimates as part of the Gates 2 and 3 steps of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” for the projects assigned
- Supporting the provision of construction input into the “Scope Definition” phase (Gate 3 to Gate 4) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including constructability reviews, recommendations on construction methods, etc. for the projects assigned
- Supporting the provision of construction input as and when required during the “Procurement” phase (Gate 4 to Gate 5) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including technical evaluations, responding to queries and clarifications related to construction elements for the projects assigned.
- Supporting the Area Construction Manager in leading and managing the “Delivery” phase (Gate 5 to Gate 6) for construction projects of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including achieving construction schedules, managing contractors, achieving quality requirements for the projects assigned
- Supporting the provision of construction support to Engineering & Technical Standards in the “Inspection and Handover” phase (Gate 6 to Gate 7) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including inspection of work to achieve construction completion, interacting with Engineering & Technical Standards to arrange final walkdowns and end user inspections, etc. for the projects assigned
- Supporting the provision of construction input to the “Closeout” phase (Gate 7 to Gate 8) of the “Gateway Process to Manage Projects” including construction input to the assessment of claims for the projects assigned.
