Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purchasing
- Responsible for providing quotes, lead times, price, and minimum buy information.
- Make inquiries and evaluate suppliers on the basis of price, quality, and selection; service, support, and availability, and other factors relevant to the organization.
- Carry out the preparation of purchase orders, review requisitions for goods and services, and solicit bid proposals as needed.
- Accurately report all project milestones to top management.
- Analyze different commodity markets to understand market trends and ensure that the organization is using the right supplier.
Transportation
- Communicate analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing.
- Design new metrics and enhance existing metrics to support the future state of business processes and ensure sustainability and scalability.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce waste sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
- Experience in Lean and Six Sigma, MS Access, SQL, and Python programming language.
- Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments.
- Data management and data quality control experience with knowledge pulling and analyzing large data sets.
Inventory
- Develop category and SKU level inventory forecast and plans that meets the company’s objectives.
- Analyze historical data and current demand trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet service level goals while reducing excess inventory maintaining appropriate target stock levels.
- Proactively identify and propose actions to move excess inventory efficiently to achieve the highest margin and cost recovery. (Aged and WIP)
- Support inventory and planning managers with the day-to-day planning priorities and projects.
- Knowledge in MS Office required with advanced knowledge in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, macros, etc.)

Requirements

Qualifications
- College Degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience.
- At least three year experience in inventory management and demand planning preferred.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with a technical understanding of math and inventory management concepts.
- The ability to summarize data logically and communicate information and recommendations clearly too all appropriate contacts.
