Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Manages the performance of outsourced contractors and ensures that service level agreements are met; maintains regular meetings with external managers
• Manages key performance indicators for the department
• Interviews senior contractor staff to ensure that they are competent to work on site
• Works with the Engineering Department to ensure that support services equipment is well maintained
• Liaises with vendors to ensure that appropriate services/equipment are sourced
• Manages costs for the department; ensures that outsourced services stay within budget
• Ensures that internal and external (JCI) accreditation standards are met and maintained
• Provides leadership to employees in the Stores Department
• Addresses and resolves staff issues in accordance with the policies and processes of Mediclinic Middle East
• Manages manpower budget of the department
• Ensures that invoices are verified and processed according to Hospital policies and procedures
• Budgets for, and purchases, equipment necessary for daily operations
• Negotiates for new contracts and the renewal of expiring contracts
• Ensures that the legal and operational elements of each contract is approved at all levels before the contract is finalised
• Responsible for adherence to the Health and Safety standards of the Department
• Ensures that contractors adhere to infection control measures
• Ensures that client complaints and enquiries are investigated and resolved
• Monitors complaints and, where a recurring complaint occurs, designs and implements improvement plans to resolve the issue
• Contributes to the senior management team as a committee member or project participant as required

Requirements

• Understanding of financial statistics and expense statements
• Previous experience in managing support services within the Health Care Industry
• Experience in customer relations
• Experience of liaising with vendors
• Knowledge of, and experience with, contract negotiation and management
• Demonstrated experience managing contracted services
• Knowledge of and experience with health and safety, patient safety and infection control within a hospital environment
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to present to senior management
• Must be fluent in English (speak, read, write); Arabic language skills will be highly regarded
• Must have very good team leadership skills
• Must be organized and understand processes and procedures
• Must have the ability to work within a multicultural team
• Must be able to prioritise and manage own workload
• Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, or equivalent experience and qualifications
