The Job Opportunity

Serco has been supporting the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the Middle East under the existing MELABS contract since 2011. Serco will provide 21 service lines, including catering, waste disposal, facilities and ground maintenance, laundry, transport management, procurement and welfare services in support of ADF bases primarily in the United Arab Emirates. Serco is looking to hire a Support Services Team Leader for their MELABS contract. The purpose of this position is to conduct all administrative tasks related to support services department and oversea daily activities for ground re-fuel operations and waste management services, carry out all support services department administrative tasks and reports, Improve the efficiency of all support services sub departments and process through perform of internal audits.

Key accountabilities

- Waste Management Services
- Supervise the collection and removal of waste to prevent Spillage or Hazardous Accumulation of waste at all relevant collection points and to dispose of the waste including the removal of aircraft sewage
- Supervise operations in accordance with the Waste Management Plan (WMP)
- Supervise the daily removal of waste from site via a waste removal subcontractor
- Ensure the waste removal data capturing process is followed and completed
- Ground Re-fuelling Services
- Supervision of the fuel procurement and delivery system
- Ensuring full compliance with the client regulatory procedure and the MELABS contractual requirements
- Supervision of the subcontractor drivers and fuel delivery vehicle fleet
- Administrative Tasks
- Processing of applicable speeding fines (i.e. identification of the ADF vehicle user) in a timely manner and reporting to Customer
- Provide a high level of courtesy and customer service to the client, subcontractors and internal staff
- Process Application for Letters of No Objection and Age Dispensations
- Manage UAE License process for customers and RSO brief during Operations Support Supervisor absence
- Maintain CAFM system and process all types of passes expire (ie. Driver Licenses, Hazmat Driver license, Host Nation Passes, etc.) on time without any incidents of failure
- Process customer application for RTA driver license new applications and renewals
- Process all Serco Support Services and Sub Contractor documents for Host Nation and ADF passes on time
- Supervision of all CAFM records are updated and resolved with in SLA's
- Report Requirements
- Prepare and review all Support Services reports and ensure month end reports are ready by work day 3
- Ensure the vehicle damage report is compiled weekly and maintain records of evidence for customer billing
- Road Fines - Identify Driver and compile supporting information to Customer bi-weekly
- Compile and conduct monthly supplier evaluations
- Provide effective communication with management, peers, client, subcontractors, carry out other duties as directed by the line management
- Provide a high level of courtesy and customer service to the client, subcontractors and internal staff
- Participate in the Health, Safety & Risk programs including risk assessment work activities
- Conduct quarterly internal audits of all support services sub-departments and its process for various external audit (ie. JLC, ISO, GIA, etc.) preparations
- Participate in overtime, shift work and/or out of hours working as governed by necessity
- Substitute for Operations Support Supervisor in absence and ensure all tasks are completed on timely manner

Requirements

What we are looking for in our candidates

- Experience operating in an autonomous capacity
- Minimum of 1 year experience team leading personnel in an operational environment
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar capacity
- Experience with shift working
- Have the ability to operate alone with minimum supervision
- Experience supervising a team of admin personnel is essential
- Experience use of CAFM systems is essential

Specific requirements

- Possess knowledge of Fuel Operations in the Middle East
- Possess knowledge of Waste Operations in the Middle East
- Experience and understanding of dealing with customers, subcontractors.
