SVM Head of Sourcing Indirects - UAE National (Emirate)

The SVM Head of Sourcing for Indirects must be a UAE National and he/she will head a group sourcing function within the sourcing department responsible for the end to end operational and strategic sourcing life cycle from initiative inception through to contract execution and supplier management as required

Client Details

My client are a leading bank based in the UAE, they are looking for a UAE National to manage & guide the indirects sourcing team within their centralised procurement function.

* Responsible for Sourcing activity of a specific category area management inclusive of supplier relationship and performance management; category areas include Marketing Market Data Professional Services and Properties and FM Services.
* Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.
* Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorisation matrix.

Description

The SVM Head of Sourcing for Indirects categories will be responsible for managing the indirects sourcing team of 6-8 people. The key job responsibilities are:

* Ensure all service based contracts including ITO and BPO relationships agreements are fit for purpose
* Responsible to ensure the contractual value is retained and enhanced through Contract Management techniques; third party vendors perform in accordance with their contractual obligations through Performance Management techniques; value proposition is enhanced through engagement management
* Minimize commercial and non-commercial supply risk
* Provides leadership and accountability, ensuring process compliance and delivering optimal sourcing benefits from category management.
* Helps ensure best commercial value is negotiated and obtained for purchases. Also liaises and finalizes contracts with legal department after implementing agreed template.
* Works with the HoF SVM and Category Managers to define Sourcing Strategy, setting performance objectives and monitoring progress. Also actively engaging with and securing support from key local stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Admin, IT)
* Works with HoF SVM to establish Procurement policy and key processes aligned with Procurement Governance, in cooperation with Systems & Process Management. Responsible for adherence to the procurement process.
* Responsible for the development and ongoing training of SVM Sourcing members to agree Capability Development Plans with each respective team member within area of responsibility and - ensures department is adequately skilled, staffed, and structured to deliver sustainable results. Responsible for the personal develop of all associates within his/her area.
* Produces Annual Sourcing Category Plan, ensuring full alignment between business requirements and Category Management targets and is reviewed and updated quarterly
* Provide expertise, leadership and support to the organization to drive overall productivity program, promoting best practice sharing, benchmarking, market intelligence, etc.
* Actively participate and contribute to the development of Sourcing as a value adding function within the organization
* Identify, prioritize and approve opportunities for unplanned project based sourcing initiatives.

Monitors and reports all strategic savings on a monthly basis to the HoF SVM

Job Offer

The SVM Head of Sourcing for Indirects will be entitled to the following salary & benefits:

* Up to 50,000 AED per month

Requirements

Due to Emiratisation, the Head of Sourcing for Indirect spend must be a UAE National (Emirate) and will have the following experience & qualifications:

* Degree MBA is desirable
* English, Arabic is a must
* 15 years demonstrable Strategic Sourcing, Procurement and contracting expertise in a FTSE 250 environment, including in-depth understanding of indirect categories and processes, commercial management and supplier performance management
* Proven track record of successfully sourcing and managing large outsource/partnering arrangements
* Thorough evidential based capability across the commercial aspects of Sourcing, SRM, SPM and Commercial Management
* Executive level engagement across a range of functional areas to build trusted relationships
* Ability to manage conflict and drive through resolution through excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
* Ability to align with business strategy to reinforce the value of SVM
* Can operate in a multi matrix, performance driven structure, able to lead cross-functional projects
* Hands on Management style for projects and management of third parties, able to get involved as needed to offer support in group BU operations.
