Job Description & Summary
PwC is investing heavily in technology. The Digital Tax and Legal Services business ("TLS") team is tasked with transforming tax and legal - both our own services, and those of our clients.

The Digital team will combine client facing advisory, implementation and deployment activities with back-office scoping, support and development.

The Digital team will engage in a range of projects including:
- compliance, both insourced and outsourced
- data & analytics
- process and data mapping
- performance improvement
- ERP consulting, including implementation

Your primary responsible will be for the development and delivery of technology services to clients and internal tax and legal businesses.
The key lifecycle stages that you will be expected to deliver include, but are not limited to:
- scoping, documentation & process mapping
- configuration of software and testing build outcomes, and/or software development
- software deployment
- UAT support, live user support
- bug analysis, reporting & testing bug fixes
- infrastructure maintenance

You will have both a client facing and back office role, needing you to present well; clear and concise communication, including explaining technology concepts to clients who may not understand all the work being undertaken. You will build relationships with client IT staff during implementation phases and support the local PwC relationship manager with overall tax relationship. You will become an expert in the solutions offered and be a first point of contact for both internal and external clients wanting to understand how the solutions function.

You will have 3-4 years experience in a primarily hands-on technology-centric role. You must have strong IT skills; formal education and experience with IT infrastructure is highly desired. In particular, you will need to be comfortable with:

- working with data; BI and DB solutions are necessary, e.g. Microsoft SQL
- implementing software, both cloud-based and on-premise environments
- industry standard project management tools and approaches
- working in a tax and/or legal professional services environment


You will be process driven and capable of delivering in a consistent manner. You must also be a problem solver. You will be comfortable reading a wide variety of technical documentation, including process maps, data maps and specification documents.

You will be a self starter and capable of working individually or in small groups. Although you will have local PwC office support, you will be comfortable acting on your own initiative. You will be mobile and prepared to support a regional team.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

- technical skills - ability to manage SQL databases and compose intermediate queries, familiarity with configuration of network components (e.g. IIS), intermediate BI (e.g. MS Power BI) and Excel skills (e.g. VBA). Experience with RPA (e.g. UiPath) and data preparation (e.g. Alteryx) is highly-desired
- strong communication and interpersonal skills - with the ability to communicate with all internal and client stakeholders effectively
- proven organisational skills - with the ability to project manage implementations with the assistance of the indirect tax teams
- passion & enthusiasm - and is excited by starting projects from scratch, is a 'doer' and can drive delivery of projects

Whilst your day-to-day work may vary, your key responsibilities will include:

- configuring solutions and testing the outcome - designing and setting up instances of a range of solutions and configuring them to clients' specifications, before testing the outcomes
- consulting and documenting - gathering requirements and developing specification documents to meet the client's needs, taking into account their unique circumstances
- implementation - deploying a range of solutions in a wide variety of environments, including on premise and in cloud based solutions
- user support - providing first and second tier support to users of software solutions. This includes investigating, documenting and resolving bug reports
