Tax Consultant

Job description / Role

Overview:

The person is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Value Added Tax compliance within an organization, prepares VAT returns, and provides advice on VAT matters. This role involves analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with various departments to optimize tax processes.

Job Description:

Weekly Duties:

• Support AP invoice reviews on tax compliance.
• Tax treatments for billing of invoices such as sponsorship, cost recharges.
• Approve voucher in the system.
• Review postings from prior days in the system.

Monthly Duties:

• Asset review to ensure FAR VAT value aligns with VAT return.
• Data analysis of monthly VAT postings.
• Month-end reconciliation of VAT transaction on system at VAT return.
• Posting of VAT clearing journals to reconcile to TB.

Quarterly Duties:

• Prepare VAT Pivot table file for management review.
• Review VAT return with management to highlight key drivers and any risks/opportunities.
• Prepare VAT pivot table file for review.
• File VAT return and arrange payment if applicable via AP/treasury team.

Qualifications and Key Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance or any related field.
• Must be a qualified CA, ACCA, or CPA.
• Atleast 2-5 years of progressive experience
• Knowledge of UAE Tax.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.

Salary:
AED 10,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
