The opportunity:

Tax departments today face more challenges than ever before. Against the backdrop of these the challenges, the top issue on the minds of tax and finance directors is how to operate efficient and effective tax departments.

In our Tax Technology and Transformation team you’ll get the opportunity to use and build upon your experience in strategy and process consulting data management implementation of tax software systems and building tax requirements into ERP’s and other financial reporting software to help our clients manage the strategic as well as practical, everyday issues of operating and improving the performance of their tax departments

Our Indirect Tax team provides companies with support and advice around the automation of their VAT processes, for instance VAT support during ERP implementations, system reviews, AP automation, compliance automation, robotics integration etc. Our clients are situated in all economic sectors, public administrations and non-profit organizations.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop business plans with goals, build and deployment strategies and “closed-loop” performance measurements for our client
• Create and develop high-impact tools and materials to support the varied client work and assignments across TTT such as thought leadership, diagnostics, internal user guides and blueprints
• You are involved in the Indirect Tax aspects of ERP implementations and ERP - (SAP, Navision, Oracle, etc.)
• You perform Indirect Tax reviews of ERP systems (VAT Health checks)
• You assist clients with optimizing the ERP system to support their Indirect Tax needs
• You are involved in the integration of 3rd party software solutions that focus on Indirect Tax determination, compliance and monitoring.
• You assist clients with projects regarding e-invoicing/archiving/scanning
• You will be involved in actively mentoring and counseling your team members
• You will manage a client portfolio and assist in the creation of new products and offerings being involved in business development initiatives

Requirements

To qualify for the role you must have:

• You have a Master's Degree in a business-related discipline (e.g. Economics, Engineering, IT, etc.) or a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy/Tax
• You have an interest in Indirect Tax and Technology
• You have gained 4-7 years of experience in Indirect Tax or Technology consulting
• You are motivated learner eager to explore new challenges (e.g. tax skills, ERP systems, etc)
• Comprehensive experience in the profession and be interested in specializing in one or more of the following areas:

- Indirect Tax compliance and reporting
- Indirect tax calculation automation projects
- Development and/or implementation of tax technology
- Finance or tax performance improvement

• Experience in the development and/or implementation of tax technology solutions
• Experience or a keen interest in Finance or Tax performance improvement

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Preferably be ACA/CTA or other local equivalent qualifications
• Experience of coaching and developing more junior team members
• Experience of managing large and complex projects

• Tax Data Management – improving the quality of data received by the performance and benchmarking the tax function against market and tax department and implementing software tools to make the processing and reporting of tax data more efficient
• Tax calculation and tax reporting solutions - implementing software solutions along with process and controls re-design that support the automating of effective global tax provisioning and reporting processes.
• Insourcing/Outsourcing – developing models for all or portions of the tax compliance and reporting needs of a company
• Workflow & information management – setting up processes and technology tools to provide greater control over global tax deadlines and risks in a more efficient manner
• Tax Function Diagnostic and Benchmarking – assessing the tax function against leading practices to identify and prioritise areas of improvement.

The work requires you to work closely with our clients’ businesses so you’ll proactively maintain your technical knowledge by keeping abreast of finance or tax performance improvements methodologies possibly specialising in the configuration of tax technologies or having an understanding of ERP software (SAP, Oracle).
