Principal Accountabilities
- Transform business requirements coming from credit, risk, and legal teams into technical specifications, design software solutions reaching business objectives and technology excellence.
- Design and enhance the data-driven software solutions focused on BPM workflows, real-time data flows, and data marts with high-level quality and data accessibility for modeling and BI purposes.
- Design and implement reliable high-tier services and APIs.
- Design data transformations for different types of consumption endpoints.
- Perform data engineering tasks to assure a high level of data accessibility and quality.
- Analyze business requirements, liaise with project team, and produce functional specification document for addressing the requirements.
- Integrate and deploy new systems and products to ensure business sustainability and profitability.
- Responsible for delivery and implementation of new initiatives or changes in the domain.
- Evaluate the business requirements and identify any gaps together with high-level proposals for their resolution, workarounds, or changes in processes.
- Ensure any solutions proposed are realistic and within the agreed scope of the project.
- Participate in solution design with development to ensure the requirements are addressed. Ensure requirement traceability to facilitate tracking of requirements coverage.
- Strong operations or branch business orientation and domain expertise to comprehend user requirements.
- Improve and simplify the business process and flows using existing capabilities.
- Ability to prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user interface guides, and functional specification documents as well as getting the sign-off from the appropriate client.
- Analyze the business requirements and translate it to technical and functional specification.
- Lead on requirement gathering workshops with different stakeholders.
- Ensure the business or operational objectives of the new business requirements are well defined via methodical business analysis.
- Follow the software development lifecycle from inception throughout design, engineering, testing, and deployment, serving as a liaison between various cross-functional teams that influence enterprise applications projects.
- Work with internal and vendor teams to define accurate requirements and solutions.
- Review business requirement documents, workflows, and functional specifications.
- Validate business requirements to align with business or operations needs as well as IT architecture and security standards.
- Facilitate non-functional and integration requirements discussions and requirement definitions.
- Perform data migration or data setup requirement gathering and validations.
- Manage requirement traceability matrix to ensure delivery coverage and quality.
- Align with testing squad for testing activities, test plan, scope and approach, and review of test scenarios, test cases, test data, triage and manage defects, validate test results.
- Assist users in planning or executing UAT, analyzing defects, and defining defects priority for fix delivery by the development team.
- Prepare and review application training materials, conduct training sessions for bank users.
- Support production cutover and post-live support activities.
- Track and report progress and issues to project manager, identify potential risks.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate between entities (i.e., internal users, technology team, and application vendors) to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following as needed: functional requirements, business requirements document, use cases, GUI, screen, and interface designs.
- Ensure vendor clarity on the points raised during the design, implementation, and UAT.
- Perform as the liaison between the technology units, technology teams, support teams, and/or application vendors.
- Maintain an overview of the infrastructure and users to constantly reassess the environment and rationalize them.
- Maintain relationships with application vendors for enterprise applications related delivery.
- Ensure uniform and cohesive monitoring applied across the relevant infrastructures.
- Assist the Group Lead, project manager, and PMO in implementation, progress updates, plan reviews, scoping, and vendor discussions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task under tight timelines.
- Sound knowledge of UX and data or business process flows visualization frameworks and tools (UML, BPMN or BPEL).
Domain
- Credit risk, operational risk, wholesale lending.
- Solid understanding of wholesale credit application processing and associated credit middle office processes.
- Fundamental knowledge of integrated or enterprise risk management duties and processes.
- Fundamental knowledge of banking internal control frameworks (operational risk management, ICS, BCM, etc.).
- Basic understanding of regulatory requirements towards wholesale lending (CB, IFRS, Basel).
- Products: CreditLens, Moodys, SpreadSmart, App4Legal.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in Computer Science or similar discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar job.
- Business-oriented person with a deep technical background and strong understanding of the control system functions in the bank.
- Good experience in hosting applications and services as hybrid solutions on premise or cloud.
About the Company
In 1969, when we at Commercial Bank of Dubai started out little did we know that sheer grit and determination would get us where we are today. An Emiri Decree issued by His Highness the Late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the founder of modern Dubai, laid the cornerstone of Commercial Bank of Dubai. We started out as a joint venture of Commerzbank, Chase Manhattan Bank and Commercial Bank of Kuwait. A minority stake was held by a few UAE businessmen.
By 1982, little more than a decade later, we evolved into a National Public Shareholding company. A feat complimented by an exponential increase in the capital base and mammoth restructuring of our operations. The feather in the cap came when the Government of Dubai became a key shareholder.
