Team Member (Operations)

Job description / Role

• The airside operations assistant performs a variety of tasks that supports catering service delivery operations on the airfield, as well as various tasks including loading, unloading, counting and verification processes.
• Loads and unloads catering trolleys and containers onto aircraft from the high loader vehicles
• Checks and signs offs for inventory between Alpha and its airline customers that ensures no financial loss or client dissatisfaction
• Supports the air side safety procedures by being aware of and adhering to regulations that are laid out by airport authorities
• Conducts all tasks as allocated by the supervisors on time and in accordance with the trained standards
• Acts with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times that supports the team based approach and achieves the collective operational objectives
• Works safely at all times and in accordance with trained procedures to help prevent incidents and accidents to self and others
• Interacts with cabin crew members of customers when maneuvering trolleys or taking inventories
• Responsible for the accuracy of the inventory counts, where discrepancies may lead to financial loss for Alpha

Requirements

• High School equivalent
• Pressurized environment, which must be met with resilience, professionalism and technical skill
• The environment is 24 / 7, and supervisors are exposed to high heat and humidity
• Physical exertion load of 30 to 50% of the working hours
• Exposure to airside equipment, including aircraft, heavy vehicles and hydraulics
• Working at height of up to 8 metres from ground level
