Charterhouse is working with a European engineering services company which specialises in steel fabrication, offering high-pressure piping processes to its clients in the Marine, Shipping and Renewables space. Our client offers several retrofit activities to in-port / shipyard and transiting ships, relating to exhaust gas cleaning systems (scrubbers) and ballast water treatment systems.
With offices across four continents, our client is positioned to offer its fabrication services, both regionally and internationally.
The Technical Sales Manager will be in charge of developing retrofit activities (in-port/shipyards and during transit), especially related to exhaust gas cleaning systems and ballast water treatment systems with existing and new clients in the shipping, naval and cruise lining industry.
This senior technical sales position will carry out market research and identify key decision makers within the freight, shipping, naval and cruise lining industry to offer their retrofit services to, specific to scrubbers and ballast water treatment systems.
In conjunction, the Technical Sales Manager will build relationships with prospects and key customers to enhance long-term business relationships by attending site visits to understand their requirements and make detailed briefs for the project and engineering teams. Finally, the role will develop and execute a sales plan to meet performance expectations and requirements.
The client will look to recruit a senior technical sales professional with a minimum of 8 years’ experience and a proven track record in the shipping, freight, naval or cruise lining sector, selling exhaust gas cleaning system or ballast water treatment engineering services.
Furthermore, the successful candidate should have an international network of clients and prospects in key sectors, which can be utilised to offer our clients engineering services to. Additionally, you will be able to create and implement sales strategies which meet divisional sales targets. Ideally, the successful incumbent will have experience with classification authorities and have a Degree from an internationally recognised university in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
