Track Reliability Manager

Job description / Role

This position oversees the management of a team of Track Inspectors and Operatives with overall responsibility for ensuring the inspection of the track, switches and related infrastructure are carried out as per the agreed maintenance plan and standards. You will provide assurance that the infrastructure Permanent Way assets are safe and there is no risk to the operations of trains. This is a hands-on technical decision-making position, you must demonstrate the ability to analysis a problem, find out the root cause and provide the solution. You must also have a proven track record of development of infrastructure policies, procedures and manuals.

Role and Responsibility:

• Oversee the work of the Track Inspection teams ensuring all work is carried efficiently and safely with full adherence to all safe systems of work, company policies and rules.
• Ensure all results of the inspections are reviewed and recorded and any notifications of any track defects and unsafe conditions created are notified as appropriate.
• Determine if the line is subject to any speed restriction.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors operating in Etihad Rail.
• Ensure that the assets are kept safely in accordance with the Asset Management Strategy of the Operations.
• Communicate with the production team about necessary track repairs.
• Engage with other operating disciplines, including planners, to coordinate facility activities.
• Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Represent the Head of Reliability Manager at meetings as directed

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years of work experience in heavy haul railway maintenance with the most recent years in a Track Management position.
• BA degree in Civil Engineering is desirable.

About the Company

Etihad Rail was established in June 2009 under Federal Law no. 2, with a mandate to manage the development, construction and operation of the UAEs national freight and passenger railway network.

The railway network will be built in phases to link the principal centres of population and industry of the UAE, as well as to form a vital part of the planned GCC railway network linking the six countries of the GCC: The Kingdom of Bahrain, The State of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UAE.
