Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Track Inspector will play a vital role in carrying out the onsite project monitoring and inspection of track related construction activities. The Trackwork Inspector will be responsible for assuring fulfillment of the project requirements during construction and will report to the Trackwork lead. Experience in similar metro projects with tunnel and elevated configurations, ballast less track systems and Depot Layouts.

Key Responsibilities shall include but, not limited to:

• Ensure the Quality of the Track construction meet the client’s requirements, specifications, recognized international standards and best industry practices.
• Responsible for the supervision and monitoring various Track construction and alignment works carried out by the Contractor to ensure the specified Quality & Technical Standards and timely completion of the Project.
• Verify that all work is installed per contract requirements and approved construction methods.
• Ensuring application of agreed quality control and health & safety procedures.
• Providing resolution for technical track work construction problems and coordinating application of solutions.
• Assist Resident Engineer or Construction Manager with contract administration activities.
• Prepare inspectors' daily reports and other project related reports, as-built etc.
• Performing on-site inspections during construction and coordinates requirements with contractors and equipment supplier.
• Review and understand the contract drawings and specifications, RFIs, testing procedures, etc.
• Assist in preparation/approval of field change orders, or directives.
• Report the field construction technical issues to Trackwork lead/RE in a timely manner to initiate prompt action.
• Reviewing operational process and installations to ensure that the subcontractors comply with the design, standards and specifications of the contract documents
• Monitor the contractor field works to ensure the conditions provided by the stakeholders in their permit/NOC are followed.
• Reporting No-conformance of works in approved format.
• The candidate shall be familiar with the preparation of charts and reports using MS Office programs and assist Engineer in reviewing the project deliverables in line with the approved schedule.

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Civil / Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 7 years’ experience performing similar track construction supervision on railway projects.
• Must have experience working abroad on international projects
• Must be familiar with execution of track construction in metro projects with tunnel and elevated configurations, ballast less track systems and Depot Layouts.
