Job description / Role
One of Europe’s biggest commodity trading companies with the head office based in France and a large foothold here in Dubai, are currently searching for a Trading Operations Manager to manage the Logistics, Commercial Operations, facilitation of the purchasing processes and relationship management between the customer and supplier.
Key responsibilities;
- Manage storage agreements.
- Keep track of the insurance declarations (In collaboration with the relevant service).
- Handle and settle quality and commercial claims as well as other types of disputes
- Participate in the development of the internal computer system
- Remote management of a multicultural team composed of 3-4 people in France. This implies frequent trips to the Paris office (1 week out of 4)
- Manage the local team in Dubai consisting of 10 people.
- Define and supervise compliance with the work procedures.
- Prepare weekly reports (more frequently in case of problems) on current operations and risks for the management teams in Paris and Dubai).
- Maintain the link between the team in Dubai and the various departments (accounting, control, IT etc.) in Paris.
- Carry out annual performance reviews of your team members and to define their individual objectives.
Requirements
You will need to speak fluent French to apply for this position.
You will need to manage multiple different logistics operations such as containers, conventional, Lorries and different storage techniques. You will be managing multiple different business relationships with clients, suppliers, shipping lines, ship-owners etc.
You will also need to possess the commercial experience from a trading business, such as being able to review commercial contracts, negotiate terms & conditions with counterparties and coordinating commercial operations such as Documentation, Sea & Land Transport, Financing (working closely with the finance manager) and payment terms.
