WSP are looking for Traffic Engineer to join our Site Supervision team in Abu Dhabi.

The key objectives of the role will be;
• To set out detailed methodology for traffic surveys and traffic studies scheme to be submitted to the client for review and approval before commencing traffic activities.
• To collect data resulted from previous traffic studies including traffic counts, traffic composition and public transport.
• To conduct classified traffic survey to better define failure causes, if needed
• To guide traffic survey team I order to collect consistent traffic data required to define ideal solutions for the ease of traffic.
• To determine traffic survey count stations.
• To conduct traffic circulation study.
• To conduct traffic control devices study in order to improve adequacy and functions of signs, signals, road marking etc.
• To verify and assess traffic growth rates of previous studies.
• To estimate the design year traffic based on traffic forecasts for design purposes.
• To identify design year traffic characteristics, composition and loading of traffic for the reference of the design team.
• To conduct parking supply and demand study for selected area when requested by client.
• To consult and take advice from the client Traffic Engineer to reach to more consistent results and to apply up-to-date solution in solving traffic problems, advise and consult traffic engineers of the world-wide consultant offices for more consistent results.
• To keep client updated regarding new traffic control techniques and devices etc. applied around the

Requirements

• B.Sc in Civil Engineering /M.Sc in Traffic Engineering with 10 years’ experience in operational Traffic analysis.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is preferred
• Good knowledge of traffic and transportation design standards and experience in managing own projects from feasibility through to implementation.
• Middle Eastern experience is a Must.
• Understands relevant legislature and its implication on practice.
• Ability to design traffic and transportation projects including but not limited to CRISP study, bus priority, parking, traffic calming, and accident study.
• Communicate effectively both written and verbally with clients and other stakeholders.
• Use traffic and transportation design software Use of CAD will be an advantage.
• Should have basic knowledge of MS project.
