Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As the Transport Heavy Lift & Project Engineer you will be a part of the Transport Management Center (TMC) and your main role is to support the Heavy Lift Planning Project Manager in the technical review of all documents and information’s related to heavy lift and over gauged equipment’s transportation. Ensure that the LBUs have adequate design of the lashing and securing points on the equipment in order to comply with the CSMR (cargo securing minimum requirements) and ABB don’t look the other way program. As well make sure that the supplier is proposing the right solutions for the transport in respect of the equipment, CSMR and health and safety.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing feasibility study for the projects.
- Reviewing and commenting all technical proposals from the transport companies.
- Supporting the HLP project manager on the risk review.
- Executing road survey when it’s required.
- Recommending road / bypasses improvements if required.
- Analyzing and recommending technical solutions for execution plan.
- Insuring maximum health and safety related roles and regulations.
- Assisting to loading/offloading operations when major risk is identified.

Requirements

As an ideal candidate, you will have Bachelor’s’ degree in mechanical engineering and minimum 5 years of experience in the field of project logistics, heavy lift transportation, You should be having knowledge in transport equipment’s design, heavy equipment’s lifting, barging, shipping or railcar movements is a must. You must be capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues from other functions, HLP-TMC. You should be having project management understanding.
