Transport Manager

Job description / Role

One of the global leaders in Logistics are currently looking to grow their team and recruit an Assistant Transport Manager, based here in Dubai.

This would be a great step for someone looking to get into one of the largest 3PL’s in the world, that wants to open up a good career path in the medium to long term.

Responsibilities;

• Implementing the Overland & Haulage Client Service strategy as is established and communicated by the Head of Operations.
• Formulating the operational business plans; establishes operation policies & procedures
• Develops Clients’ SLAs
• Demonstrates leadership through maintaining a positive attitude that promotes teamwork, shared goals and values, motivation and staff development
• Manages the customer service team and ensure they are delivering services meeting the standards
• Ensures to provide periodic performance feedback to employees and to conduct yearly appraisals Day -to-day Overland & Haulage Operation
• Manages the day-to-day operation including but not limited to: overland scheduling, staff shift roster, distribution of tasks, handling of non-conformances and troubleshooting
• Provide assistance in pricing
• Takes ownership of all Overland & Haulage aspects of customer shipment requirements, from receiving booking requests to invoicing
• Works pro-actively with internal and external customers and suppliers to provide complete Overland & Haulage solutions
• Contributes to the generation of new customer base and increase of EBIT
• Prepares necessary inbound & outbound status reports, billing and any other reports as required
• Ensures that all cost information are available for billing within monthly timelines

To be successful, you need to have managed cross border transport operations here in the region.

Salary:
AED 15,000 to 16,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Essential Experience

• You must have a minimum of 5 years in a Transportation/ Overland & Haulage
• With a minimum of 2 year in a managerial position
• With at least 2 years previous experience in Cross border/Overland Transportation and familiar with GCC border regulations
