UAE National - Team Lead AP Accountant

Job description / Role

We are hiring a UAE National for the position of Team Lead - Accounts Payable Accountant. This role will oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments, compliance with financial policies, and effective team management. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing payment cycles and strengthening supplier relationships.

Description

* Lead the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, verification, and payment execution
* Ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions in the ERP system
* Review and approve supplier reconciliations and payment runs
* Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
* Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial policies
* Prepare monthly AP reports and contribute to audit processes
* Mentor and supervise junior AP staff, ensuring high-quality performance
* Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

* UAE National with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
* Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office tools
* Solid understanding of AP processes, vendor management, and internal controls
* Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and coordinate with multiple departments
