Upstream General Manager, Geosciences, Exploration & Development

An Oil trading house requires an Upstream General Manager for Iraq projects to be based in Dubai on a permanent residential basis.

The main purpose of the position is to assist the management with technical evaluations of large oil reserve assets and contract negotiations. You will liaise closely with the senior management and decision makers, as well as senior government and technical personnel . You will promote cordial relationships across all these stakeholders, providing leadership and guidance to support the timely and professional delivery of objectives. A high competence level in the areas related to production operations (e.g. reservoir & petroleum engineering, production, drilling, projects, materials & contracts, budgets and production forecasts) including plans to maximise oil and gas production from development licenses is highly desirable. You will communicate and report effectively on all matters of interest tot he Management, ensuring that the owner's values and interest is maintained.

The main responsibilities of the role is to review and evaluate attractive E&P opportunities as identified by management, including exploration, technical studies and field development plans. Liaises with external parties in relation to that.

- Put together project economics and annual operating budgets related to oil field development programs.
- Coordinate the technical activities, including field evaluation, data room, geological analysis and production planning, for the company's management team.
- Represent the company with government officials and third party consultants as necessary.
- Assist management with the negotiation of contracts such as service contracts, production sharing agreements etc.
- Put together and execute presentations to partners and regulators as required.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will have a degree in engineering, geosciences or another applicable discipline with 5 years in a similar level position such as senior management positions within oil and gas producers.

Previous experience with international exploration & development projects and demonstrated experience with strategy development for company growth. Demonstrated technical understanding of engineering and geosciences activities including production, exploitation, operations, geology and geophysics.
