Employment: Full Time

Utility Coordinator - Abu Dhabi Site

- Supervise the production of co-ordination of the Potable Water, Storm Water, Irrigation, Telecom Network utilities Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, ITTO’s, etc. to ensure that all services are coordinated with each other and the Electrical and Mechanical utilities works, in co-ordination with Electromechanical Engineer, is complying with the contract requirements.
- Ensure all shop drawings are comprehensive and discussed with the various engineers for the best implementation and installation of services in coordination with other parties and main contractor.
- Supervise and monitor all Potable Water, Storm Water, Irrigation, Telecom Network utilities and combined utilities site work conformances with provisions as per Specifications / Municipality/ADEWA/Civil Defence Regulations/Etisalat, etc..
- Liaise with the relevant Municipality and Utilities Authorities for approvals for Potable Water, Storm Water, Irrigation, Telecom Network utilities works
- Provide reminders, in advance, to the ARE for any anticipated conflict that may happen in the future with respect to the simultaneous activities of all MEP trades and main contractors.
- Follow up the status of material and shop drawings and keep all parties informed of the status and follow up the implementation of the Employer’s comments in timely manner.
- Distribute detailed information, documents and regulations as applicable to all concerned parties and ensure their acknowledgement and adherence to its contents.
- Co-ordinate with main contractors, sub-contractors, MEP coordinator, Engineers and Construction Manager to obtain clearance before starting the work to ensure smooth and efficient execution of work.
- Provide Technical support and solve all Site technical issues to ensure completion of Projects within the stipulated time.
- Supervise contractor’s activities on site is carried out as per approved Shop Drawings, Specifications and Materials Submittals, and review and maintain QA/QC, and associated documentation and associated registers
- Keep daily diaries and records of all utilities work
- Carry out daily inspections of all utilities work and sign off the relevant part of the Contractor’s Request for Inspections in a timely manner.
- Raise any non-conformances, and follow-up Close-out Action Plans, for poor workmanship by Contractor, with the Electrical / Water ARE’s and QA/QC in a timely manner.
- Keep the Electrical and Water ARE’s informed of the progress of the works
- Raise any safety issues with the HS&E Engineer.
- Provide the necessary reminders to the Resident Engineer, ARE’s, QS and the Planning Engineer for any immediate action.
- Prepare responses to site related RFI’s
- Manage and monitor utilities site inspection staff;
- Attend inspections with Authorities;
- Participate in planning & assist in resolution of issues in a timely manner;
- Participate and witness in the Testing and Commissioning, and in co-ordination with the relevant Authorities
- At project close out co-ordinate and check for accuracy and completeness of records, including As Built documentation, O&M’s;
- Joint inspection of the site condition and preparation of snags list along with the project consultant team and the contractor.

Requirements

- A relevant technical qualification (degree) is essential.
- Minimum seven (10) years relevant experience in major highway and infrastructure projects. Familiarity with utilities, drainage and electro-mechanical works.
