UX Manager

Job description / Role

DarkMatter is developing a suite of communication applications covering encrypted voice, instant messaging, email and other in-transit data. Working in a fast paced environment, the candidate will be responsible for software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and deployment of security-focused products and services.

The Role

DarkMatter is looking for a User Experience (UX) Manager to mentor our User Experience (UX) team, shape our long-term UX strategy, and establish UX best practices in our product development process.

The UX Manager will lead and inspire our team to provide products that are simple to use, well organized, and meaningful. This will drive greater adoption of our products and improved success by our customers.

In this role, you will:

- Define a long-term, unifying UX vision that creates strategies for success through a holistic view
- Incorporate leading UX strategies into our design, prototyping, and research initiatives
- Manage projects from conception through completion designed to enhance the customer's journey
- Lead and mentor our UX team while making sure team and individual goals are aligned with the overall established strategy
- Collaborate with Executives, Product Managers, and Developers to shape user-centered design solutions
- Partner with Product Managers to formulate their products' experience strategy
- Quantitatively connect experience strategies to business results
- Prioritize experience strategies through research, customer usage, and contact dataconcept

Requirements

To bring your dream to life, you'll need:

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Psychology, Graphic/Web Design, Sociology, Cognitive Science, or other related field
- 5+ years of full-time professional experience leading UX teams
- 5+ years of full-time professional work in user experience design/research

Desired skills:

- Advanced understanding of web and mobile usability
- Experience building teams, establishing goals, and developing team members
- Comprehensive understanding of UX design concepts and UX research techniques
- A natural inclination to make things simpler and more intuitive with a sensitivity to how UX can help users; considering color, layout, space, icons and visual hierarchy
- Proactive mindset when it comes to uncovering opportunities for research
- A portfolio of hands-on experience demonstrating professional examples
- Experience managing remote team members
- Familiarity with development and configuration tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, etc.)
