VAT Analyst Intern

Role overview:

As a VAT analyst intern, you’ll be joining our indirect tax team. This internship is designed to give you hands-on exposure to VAT compliance, research, and advisory processes under the guidance of experienced tax professionals. You will assist in preparing reports, conducting VAT return reconciliations, researching regulatory updates, and supporting client engagements. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or final-year students who are eager to begin a career in taxation and gain practical experience in a professional services environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the VAT team in preparing VAT returns, reconciliations, and basic compliance reviews.
• Assist in researching VAT laws, cabinet decisions, and FTA public clarifications.
• Help compile data and documentation required for VAT advisory projects and client reports.
• Participate in client file preparation and documentation review for audit or tax purposes.
• Support senior consultants in drafting VAT memos, presentations, and internal summaries.
• Maintain organized records of VAT filings, invoices, and related correspondence.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and team discussions.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing final year) in accounting, finance, commerce, or taxation.
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting, audit, or tax (internship experience is a plus).
• Strong interest in UAE tax law and financial regulations.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting concepts.
• Residing in the UAE and available to join immediately (preferred).
