About Healthcare

Healthcare is playing an instrumental role in the creation of a thriving private healthcare sector for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We are actively investing to develop a comprehensive private healthcare infrastructure, establishing partnerships with renowned international medical institutions to deliver world-class healthcare facilities and services to the people of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.

Our investment focus currently includes patient care delivery and ancillary services. All our projects are evaluated on the basis of their likely commercial returns, as well as on their socio-economic impact.

The Challenge

Mubadala is helping to address the region's most pressing healthcare needs through the creation of specialist, world-class healthcare facilities, building regional capability and stimulating the overall development of the sector.

You will help improve the quality of healthcare provision in the UAE by, collaborating with the leadership teams in a number of our Healthcare Assets to improve the individual and collective performance of those assets measured both commercially and in terms of quality of care provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Leadership : be part of the Healthcare Leadership team, contribute to the development of Platform strategy and ensure activity at the asset level is aligned to this.
- Asset Engagement : partner with the Asset leaders to engage the business, understand their business plans, agendas and environment, establish credibility and trust with the leadership team.
- Strategy : develop the 5-year strategic plan for the development of the asset and the plan to deliver the strategy.
- Execution : work with the Asset Leaders to execute the plans, ensuring alignment to Asset, Platform and MDC goals and standards, this includes
- Leadership : hire and developing the leadership team.
- Budget : establishing and obtaining approval for the annual budget.
- Policy/Procedures : developing and obtaining approval for new policy/procedures.
- Talent Development : ensure a competent workforce and required levels of Emiratization within the asset.
- Performance Management : together with the leadership team manage performance (financial and non-financial) against the plan, work with leaders to rectify any issues and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Governance : Together with the Asset Leaders, ensure effective corporate governance; carry out duties as a representative of the board, in order to support the successful operations of the company.
- Relationship Management : Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant external/internal entities (such as Government Regulatory Authorities, Investors, Business Partners, Key stakeholders of the Asset)
- Continuous Improvement : identify opportunities to improve asset management procedures/ practices to facilitate better operations of the Asset and partnership with Mubadala
- Management Reporting : Prepare and enhance asset management reports timely and accurately to meet Mubadala and department requirements, policies and standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience

- Degree educated with MBA preferred, CFA preferred
- 10+ years' experience in business leadership, incubation, growth of new business, managing full lifecycle from feasibility through to exit, in the healthcare sector or a similar environment
- Proven ability to develop and deliver business plans and strategies.
- Proven ability to conceive, plan, manage and deliver complex projects.
- 5+ year's leadership, people management experience
- Proven ability to engage and add value to business leaders.
- Able to engage, report and influence at Board Level
- Strong business acumen with experience in Investment and/or Mergers & Acquisitions and/or Operational Business Leadership
- Passion for Healthcare and knowledge of the sector
- Experience in start-up and corporate environments.
