Role Summary:

The GECAS Cargo Aircraft Group is responsible for marketing and managing the cargo aircraft within the GECAS portfolio. This Marketing role is responsible for driving, developing, and owning assigned customer relationship in the Europe and MAC region to place GECAS owned and managed aircraft and to secure financing volume.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Originate, develop and support closing of aviation transactions focused on cargo customers in the Europe and MAC region.
- Serve as the GECAS Marketing representative at target customers in the Europe and MAC region. Build the business in this region by driving expansion of the customer base and penetration across the product portfolio for the GECAS Cargo Aircraft Group.
- Identify and create deal opportunities including buying, selling, structured financing of large ticket commercial aircraft, and marketing of the existing GECAS cargo fleet. Deliver on set targets in the areas of aircraft placements, restructuring of existing lease transactions, sale & leasebacks, engine financing, and aircraft debt opportunities.
- Product development for cargo programs, aircraft and shape products to meet the market demands.
- Focus on proactively resolving customer issues and point of contact for customers
- Initiate and develop ongoing relationships with senior airline management, customer personnel and other industry players to identify and develop aircraft and GECAS product placement opportunities.
- Follow airline credit profiles and business development, facilitate early warning for credit concerns, enforce collections and oversee deal restructurings (when necessary).
- Oversee cross-functional deal teams to ensure timely approval and completion of volume and existing asset placement transactions in line with approval parameters. Maintain support systems and liaise with internal GECAS organizations including Leasing Operations, Legal, Technical, Risk, Finance, Tax and Customer Service.
- Interface with other parts of GE Commercial Finance, GE Infrastructure and other GE units to advance system opportunities
- Stay current with latest developments in the airline and aviation finance sector and serve as subject matter expert for relevant products within GECAS.
- Build GECAS relationship and network with local relevant industry groups.
- Extensive travel will be required, in some cases at short notice.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Significant experience in complex transactions including lead responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and closing transactions
- Demonstrated strong creative solutions orientation, successful problem solver, motivator, and influencer with track record of delivering results
- Experience with and understanding of the aviation industry, especially in the cargo and regional aircraft markets
- Experience of leading and participating in cross-functional deal teams, strong facilitative skills
- International, multi-cultural business experience
- Proficiency in English and local language(s) of coverage area wherever possible
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently interface with senior management
- Strong PC skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Knowledge of operating/ finance lease structures
- Technical aircraft, engines and systems experience
- Knowledge of airline operations and aircraft operating cost analysis

Desired Characteristics:

- MBA or advanced University degree or equivalent professional qualification in Finance, Engineering, or a related field with commercial aviation exposure
- Proven success at multi-tasking, thrives in a high pressure environment with multiple shifting priorities
- Experience with and understanding of the aviation industry, technical and maintenance aspects of aircraft. Able to conduct research and robust analysis
- Strong understanding of the manufacturers and industry players (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, GE Aviation and their respective products)
- Knowledge of aircraft performance analysis
- Proven ability to manage large ticket, complex deals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, self motivated
- Able to identify and summarize customer needs accurately and manage expectations
- Working knowledge of GECAS processes
