Vice President - Procurement (Dubai based)

This position will be responsible in directing and sponsoring our client's sourcing activities, working closely with the procurement organisation, senior leadership and Purchasing Managers in pursuit of sustainable reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured. You will be reporting to the COO and will have 7 direct reports that include directors and managers. *You will need to have procured raw materials such as agricultural products (grains) for foods to be successful.

Client Details:
This market leading, food manufacturing and beverage business, with a solid customer base spread across the UAE, GCC and the broader Middle East; made up of multinational brands is currently looking for Vice President - Procurement, to manage both strategic sourcing activities as well as bring significant improvements in the quality and service levels of the supply chain.

Description:
- Prepare annual and long-term strategic sourcing plans which identify how the central sourcing organization intends to achieve client's goals. The plan will propose specific sourcing team projects for the year, expected savings from initiatives, staffing needs, and timetable for completion.
- Drive performance in centralized procurement divisions by jointly set targets with divisional Directors. Work closely with divisional Directors to determine the current and future sourcing needs to agree on the best method for fulfilling those needs, and to monitor ongoing effectiveness of the process.
- Promote and participate in committees to ensure that strategic sourcing's input is integrated into major corporate/BU decisions and initiatives.
- Track planned and achieved savings and build methods for incorporating savings from sourcing teams into annual operating budgets. Responsible for communicating at a group/BU level overall sourcing trends/results on an ongoing basis and preparing a comprehensive communication strategy/approach to build company/BU-wide awareness on how to manage sourcing costs more effectively.
- Develop and implement a purchasing employee value proposition that leads to a significant upgrade in company's/BU purchasing talent base.
- Participate and support in acquisition activities by assessing the sourcing opportunity during the due diligence phase and rapidly aligning sourcing strategies/practices of acquired companies to leverage volume and best practices.
- Keep abreast of sourcing best practices and new developments in Agribusiness and CPG and should take steps to ensure that our client is implementing such practices where appropriate. GDP will develop guidelines, policies, and standards for company-wide sourcing activities
- Coordinate with business unit/company leadership to identify and execute performance improvement initiatives aimed at achieving year-on-year reductions in total sourcing spend
- Coach divisional leaders on development of leadership and business management skills

Requirements

- Post graduate, preferably MBA with engineering background, professional designations and certifications (PMP, PM, EIPM, CPP, CSCP etc.)
- Successful, multi-year track record in a PSM organisation
- 15 years functional experience out of which 5 years should be in an equivalent management level
- Post graduate, preferably MBA with engineering background, professional designations and certifications (PMP, PM, EIPM, CPP, CSCP etc.).
