Visitor Guide – Dubai EXPO 2020

BigFish Recruitment are a Dubai based recruitment and HR consultancy company. On behalf of our client ServeU, who have been appointed as the HR Services and Staffing provider to the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, we are seeking talented individuals to work in the United Kingdom’s Pavilion at the Dubai EXPO 2020 event. Visitors to the Pavilion will be provided with an interactive, high tech visitor experience.

We are currently seeking Visitor Guides to work at the event. As a guide you will be a part of a large team working in the UK Pavilion. Your day will be varied, busy and rewarding as you assist visitors, helping to create a memorable and exceptional experience

Working Hours:
Shifts to cover site operations between 9.00am to 11.00pm – 7days a week. Typical shift timings will be 9.00am to 4.30pm or 4.00pm to 11.00pm, either 4 or 5 days a week dependent on the rosters. Weekend work will be required

Key Tasks and Duties:
• Provide outstanding customer service to all stakeholders including visitors, clients and colleagues at all times.
• Host and facilitate visitor’s journeys inside the Pavilion, as described in the training programme, following pre-existing scripts.
• Manage queues, information and visitor expectations.
• Proactively monitor visitor numbers and flow rates inside the pavilion.
• Escort and manage school groups and VIPs through the Pavilion
• Deal with any public complaints professionally in-line with the UK Pavilion protocols
• Cover duties of other team members such as Reception, Coordinators and Lounge Staff as required.
• Assist in the opening and closing of the UK Pavilion completing H&S checks as required.
• Assist in the emergency procedures for evacuations
• Work in conjunction with other contractors such as cleaners and maintenance personnel as required.to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the Pavilion
• Offer additional support to the Visitor Team Leaders as required.
• Participate in Pavilion events such as evening events and parades.
• Fully understand the content and wider cultural significance of the Pavilion
• Cover for the Visitor Guide Team Leader, if required
• Perform duties whilst adhering to Expo 2020 Covid-19 guidelines and SOPs as instructed during the training and as laid out in the staff handbook

Requirements

Skills/Competencies required:
• An excellent team player with the ability to work well as a large team and alone
• A genuine passion for working with people and making learning fun
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and the ability to think quickly and adapt to ever changing environments.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Self-assured with a willingness to learn.
• A very good understanding of the English Language.
• A proactive and positive approach to the public
• A good communicator, flexible and excellent team plater

It would be an advantage to have:
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Experience of working with children and families.
• Experience of working in a visitor facing environment.
• Languages - particularly English and Arabic
