Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Assess credit risk of GCC/MENA clients for all industries (Oil & Gas, Utilities, Telecommunications, Food & Beverage, Construction, Commodities, etc.) to determine repayment capabilities.
• Perform detailed corporate financial analysis on government related entities, sovereign wealth funds, public/private companies across mature industries and emerging markets.
• Provide credit assessments on a portfolio of target/current clients whilst keeping updated with ongoing market/industry trends and government/country policies.
• Determine debt repayment capabilities by analyzing optimal capital structures through leverage financing or equity investments.
• Support front office by providing risk assessments on financing transactions, advising on legal documentation (term sheets, covenants, etc.) and meeting clients as required.
• Liaise with Corporate Coverage teams on the advice and structuring of corporate borrowing facilities.
• Advise on credit quality/exposure of MENA corporates including local subsidiaries with foreign parent.
• Prepare Corporate Counterparty credit analysis including industry research, business profile/strategy, financial projections (w/non-standard situations) and propose credit ratings per internal procedures.
• Prepare credit memoranda in connection with breaches/amendment of covenants, general facility amendments and excess requests; and follow up on conditions of sanction.
• Responsible for the preparation of business credit applications which include a thorough credit assessment of the borrower’s financial strength (balance sheet, cash flow, and profitability analysis) via ratio analysis and stress testing, industry and business risk analysis, identification of key risks and mitigants, facility details structure and evaluation of transaction risks associated with proposed structures (Bilats, syndicates, bridge loans)
• Preparation of operational models and projections to forecast client performance and financial health (over the facility tenor). Value drivers and assumptions are tested to assess client’s financial strength under both base case and stressed scenarios
• Liaising with product partners to prepare transaction pitches (pitch books) and internal credit memos for transaction approvals. Have been involved in several deals ranging from working capital financing (short term loans & RCFs) to bridge loans and advisory mandates
• Preparation of other analysis such as Industry specific reviews (includes the Refining, Retail, & Construction Industry) within the wider MENA region, transaction and trade comps analysis for peer analysis, and fundamental valuation including discounted cash flow analysis
• In charge of quarterly revenue forecast models for CIB across the region. This involves understanding different products, liaising with colleagues across business segments and tracking actual performance against budget
• Perform portfolio optimization analyses and reviews to help track areas of portfolio weakness and identify opportunities to grow and exit relationships
• Business Credit Application, CDD and other Client on-boarding processes this includes industry and management analysis, spreading and financial ratio analysis, and other business risk analysis required for credit decision. Analysis also included final structuring of facilities approved inclusive of covenants and risk triggers

Requirements

• Corporate credit risk professional with at least 6+ years of experience
• Experience of Corporate and/or FI credit analyst
• Documentation control of banking facility agreement
• Experience of work out of problem customer/asset
• Preparation of terms and conditions of financing facility
• Experience of structuring banking facility.
