Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To ensure the operational continuity and reliability of the currently deployed IT infrastructure of the Group, including all IT systems, networks, databases, as well as oversee the provision of day-to-day 1st and 2nd line support to business users across the Group.

Description:

Leadership and Transformation:

• Lead transformation, sets the tone and challenge current process/practices.
• Lead service delivery governance by balancing between the need of the internal customer and the cost of service deliver.
• Provide leadership and direction to the team in achieving department's goals and objectives.

Strategic Roles and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the formulation of the IT functional strategy by providing inputs from an IT Infrastructure perspective, and ensure IT Infrastructure requirements are incorporated into the functional strategy.
• Review the budget requirements of the IT Infrastructure function, and accordingly participate in the development of the budget of the IT Department

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the continued, seamless running of the Group's databases, including thorough continued tuning and managed upgrades.
• Oversee the development of disaster recovery plans in line with business continuity requirements during any outage, also to prevent any data loss through implementation of backup plans in order to ensure uninterrupted functioning of all IT servers & conduct regular data back-up.
• Identify the IT services to be provided by the IT help desk including hardware and software support, monitor service quality provided by the IT help desk and take corrective action to ensure timely and effective provision of help desk services to ensure no impact to business performance
• Manage the entire data-centre operations (including applications, internet and intranet services), facility administration, technical support and network support as well as the day-to-day management of staff.
• Monitor performance of the Data Center and initiate corrective action where required, define IT network, system and database hardware and software requirements and upgrade implementation ensure that operating plans are efficient, reliable and secure
• Plan and implement the administration & support for the network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/MAN and/or Wireless) to ensure network availability 24x7 for continuity of the businesses across group; and ensure daily checks are performed on network to check for problems.
• Monitor network performance, capturing log files (e.g. Switch logs, Hardware Performance & usage evaluations) for trend analysis including intrusion detection; undertake root cause analysis and provide solution to eliminate the problem from recurring
• Monitor performance of the IT technical support team and initiate corrective action where required, define help desk requirements, software and hardware standards, optimization plans, hardware and software equipment requirements, outsourcing opportunities and conduct IT awareness training programs to ensure that technical support requirements are identified and provided in line with defined standards
• Develop and monitor implementation of the service delivery business operating model, implement the technology operating/process model, plan and supervise database upgrades, develop the technology architecture to ensure that the IT databases are efficient, reliable and secure.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to subordinates towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
• Ensure that team members are acquainted with the changing situation and the developments.
• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
• Prepare performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress, and identify training needs of team members to improve efficiency and ensure conformity with standard procedures and practices.
• Lead and Manage succession planning as strategic initiative (e.g. Identify successors for all critical roles and developing individuals who have potential for further growth within the Department).

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in managing a multi-site IT infrastructure.
