VP - Trust Services - Compliance

Job description / Role

Job Purpose
Support the establishment of industry recognition and maintain industry standards compliance through relationships with applicable industry bodies, and participation in industry forums. Ensure compliance with PKI industry regulations, applicable Certificate Policies, Certification Practices Statements, Registration Practices Statements and internal controls through internal and external auditors. Assist in the establishment and definition of regulatory activities that promote the adoption and use of PKI technologies and services.

Key Responsibilities
- Review Certificate Policy, Certification Practices Statements, Registration Practice Statements, and corresponding standard operating procedure documents for compliance, request updates to maintain these in accordance with changing industry standards
- Develop and execute compliance and audit plan, while maintaining priorities for the applicable requirements
- Accomplish compliance and audit work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and guiding auditors
- Ensure all required audits are completed in the appropriate time frames
- Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analysing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure
- Communicate audit and industry compliance progress and findings by preparing and presenting management reports
- Verify assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation
- Research applicable external regulation, compliance and industry standard requirements in support of the unit operations
- Represent Company and Business Unit interests in Industry Forums and Standards Bodies
- Establish and maintain trust relationships with key Industry and Regulatory body representatives
- Ensure an up-to-date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Financial
- Utilize existing budgets for security solutions in an efficient manner to minimize costs
- Forecast financial requirements to support the Department leadership in finalizing future budgets
- Allocate financial resources to various tasks and projects to meet the strategic requirements

People
- Develop talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets and take on larger projects.
- Manage the team on a daily basis including resolving issues and maintaining high motivation levels within the team
- Complete accurate, objective and fact-based performance appraisals for all direct reportees on time
- Ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained through the organisation
- Oversee workload, conduct performance evaluations and sign off on reward, recognition and career guidance along with necessary disciplinary actions as appropriate
- Review the manning and training requirements of the team and communicate those requirements to the respective HC business partner

Measurable Deliverables
- Establishment and maintenance of international trust recognition for PKI Roots or Trust Anchors in target platforms, operating systems, applications, and communities of interest
- Industry Trust incident response times meet or exceeds SLAs
- Audit data reviewed/analysed within specified standards
- Section costs managed within agreed budgets

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Technical Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in IT/ IS/Computer Science (Master's preferred) or demonstration of 10+ years of relevant experience in the PKI industry
- Minimum 8 years of experience at a commercial CA, for policy, audit and/or quality management responsibilities
- Certifications like CISSP, CAP, SSCP would be an added advantage
- Good working knowledge of Networking and Security Concepts, IT Governance, Risk and Compliance and Enterprise applications is required
- Proven ability to engage and align with senior executives, COO, CIO, CISO etc
- Experience in developing operational & technical documentation.
- Knowledge of escalation methodologies & appropriate times to escalate.
