Job description

Greets guests and presents them with the menu.

Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.

Suggests food and beverages to the guest and also tries to upsell.

Takes food and beverage orders from the guest on the order-taking pads.

Obtains revenues, issues receipts, accepts payments, and returns the change.

Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

Fills in for absent staff as needed in any of the food and beverage departments within the hotel.

Punches in the order on the POS machine and makes sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food, e.g., no garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.

Communicates with the guest and provides assistance with their queries.

Works as a team to get all the job tasks completed in any given time.

Observes guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and service.

Promptly responds to the guest with any additional requests.

Takes guest feedback and encourages guests to share their feedback on social media platforms such as TripAdvisor and TrustYou.

Maintains proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.

Properly opens and pours wine at the tableside.

Adheres to grooming and appearance standards consistently.

Understands and can communicate products and services available at the resort.

Has some familiarity with basic cooking knowledge.

Helps other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.

Prints closing report and drops the cash with the front office or accounts department.

Tallies the credit card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine.

Closes the shift on the POS terminal.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Trustworthy with attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in their work.

Proactive and energetic with a positive "can do" attitude.

Ability to multitask with prioritization skills.

Knowledge of the products and items sold in the outlet.

Proficient in the use of Micros.
