Welder and/or Fabricator

Job description / Role

We are seeking skilled Welders and Fabricators to join our dynamic team in the shipping industry. This role is crucial for assembling and fabricating metal structures and components, ensuring high-quality standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the specifications for welding and fabrication tasks.
- Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using welding machines and tools, ensuring precision and quality.
- Conduct inspections of completed welds to guarantee adherence to safety standards and quality control.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring it is in good working order and ready for use at all times.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for all staff.

- Have experience working, at least 3 years at shipyards or ship repairs companies.
- Strong knowledge of different welding techniques and metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in challenging positions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
