Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

24k max plus flights medical family status

- Contributes in the development of the overall Logistics & Warehousing Department operational plans.
- Implement, monitor and track department related KPIs and initiate remedial actions in case of discrepancy between actual and expected performance.
- Ensures timely receipt and offloading of inbound products and consumables into warehouses, and ensures that delivered products and quantities are as per order requirements.
- Ensure that products are stored safely and in the right conditions inside the warehouses and office premises.
- Based on customer order details, committed delivery dates and customer prioritization, ensures reservation of appropriate product inventory within the system.
- Ensures stock is managed in accordance with agreed SOPs and that team members are familiar with, and using IT systems appropriately.
- Highlights stock count discrepancies for short/ excess/ or defective items received from suppliers.
- Plan the weekly and monthly inbound and dispatch activity in conjunction with the Line Manager to deliver the needs of the customer and business
- Order Processing, Delivery and Confirmation (Outbound) including managing Customer Returns ensures efficient and timely picking, packing and configuration of products based on customer orders.
- Work closely with Sales to ensure seamless end-to-end service (from receiving inventory from suppliers to storage in warehouse and arranging final product delivery to internal and external customers.
- Manages the process to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial and warehouse systems (e.g. three way matching) and informs Management of discrepancies.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to within the receiving, storage and dispatch areas
- Develop internal quality check systems to ensure that dispatch items meet the requirements of the customer
- Communicates and discusses the functions guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood.
- Provides guidance, support, leadership and management to employees in order to ensure effective and efficient flow of work.
- Monitors staff performance, provides feedback and undertakes performance appraisals for all direct reports. Oversees performance appraisals for all other departmental staff.
- Provide guidance to the team based on management direction
- Ensure that team members are adequately and competently trained to provide flexibility across all logistics areas and meet the needs of the business
- Coach and counsel staff where necessary to deliver the needs of the business in accordance with all current and future policies and procedures
- Liaise with the team regarding day-to-day volume of work

The SCM currently reports into the regional CFO.

He will be managing a team of 5 (logistics, warehouse/ stores, procurement, currently order processing)

Experience/ competencies:
- Should have a good understanding of supply chain, logistics, warehousing, order processing, procurement in a trade and production environment.
- Our main inbound logistics activities are from our Supply Centers in Ireland, Germany, France, US, Poland, China and Italy. It will be required that the potential candidate knows about the different routes (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Gdansk, Genova to Dubai) and has some experience in optimizing inbound transportation activities with regards to transit times (service) and cost.
- Our customer base is located in Africa (e.g. Nigeria, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Tanzania, Senegal, Morocco, etc.) and GCC (KSA, Oman, UAE, Kuwait). Some of our goods are being supplied to the customer directly from the supply centers or stock is kept in Dubai for distribution as per sales forecasts or fabrication requirements. It will be helpful if the candidate has experience with outbound logistics into our sales regions and has a good network of contacts.
- Good understanding of LC documentation and processes (UCP 600) will be an advantage. 60% of our sales are paid via documentary credits (especially in Africa). Due to forex restrictions in the countries we operate in, the local banks became extremely pedantic when it comes to minor discrepancies at the moment. Understanding of DC will help the candidate to contribute to our working capital targets.
- Must have worked in an ERP environment. BaaN 5 (Infor), SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Good command of English.
