Employment: Contract

Our client is now recruiting for a Zone Deputy Security Manager. You will be directly reporting to the Zone Security Manager - Security Operations
Required Background: Military, Police Security or Defence (candidates coming from this background will be considered for the role.)
Contract Duration: 11.5 months

Job Purpose
The Security Department at the event is mandated to prepare, deliver and ensure that the appropriate security solutions are in place for all phases of the programme and into legacy through a guest focused, risk-based approach that sets out to provide best-in-class security.

The role of the Zone Deputy Security Manager is overseeing all aspects of security across all phases of the event programme within the respective Zone, from construction to event delivery. The role includes supporting the event operational functions, processes and SOPs.

The purpose of the role of the Zone Deputy Security Manager is principally concerned with providing shift relief to the Zone Security Manager and conducting his/her responsibilities of overseeing all aspects of Security across all phases of the event programme within the respective Zone, from construction to event delivery.

Core Accountabilities

Operational Responsibilities:
• Deputize for the Zone Security Manager as required by shift pattern
• Support the Zone Security Manager in the development and implementation of plans for the Zone to cover all aspects of the security arrangements as directed including; routine Business as usual activity, scenario, contingency, Incident Management and emergency evacuation, and others
• Oversee and Manage Security Planning and Delivery for the Zones during the phases as defined
• Draft and propose SOP’s ahead of future requirements.
• Monitor and manage timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all milestones are identified and met.
• Oversee training requirements for staff involved in Zones, ensuring appropriate personnel are trained and briefed as appropriate.
• Oversee and Manage Security Planning and Delivery for the Zones during the phases as defined
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Chief of Security, the Head of Security Operations or the Zone Security Manager as required.

People Responsibilities:
• Supervise a Zone Security Coordinator
• Manage workforce security contractor
• In the absence of and on behalf of the Zone Security Manager lead the team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports and workforce

Requirements

Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills required

• 5 years’ experience in Security or similar role
• Strong Presentation and Communication Skills
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Demonstrated experience in delivering on plans
• Demonstrated experience in Incident Management and Conflict Resolution
• Strong Attention to detail skills
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in Planning and Organisation
