Job description / Role
Our client is an international engineering company which has a number of Oil & Gas projects globally.
Job description:
• Develop and review Lifting Plans.
• Have stewardship of cranes for the Project.
• Determine standards for and participates in, the monitoring and assessment of lifting operations.
• Lead the inspection and validation of lifting equipment prior to mobilization in coordination with respective PMT.
• Verifies and ensures compliance with the Project Owner’s requirement, standards, specifications, and instructions.
• Verify competence of lifting personnel
• Participate in the JRAs for critical lifting operations
• Perform, or makes perform by a competent person, TBTs prior to the
• Beginning of each working shift or when critical lifts are being carried out.
• Develop and keep up to date specific site lifting procedures.
• Advise the Project Owner upon mitigation measures to be put in place for reducing lifting operation risk.
• Coaches and mentors onsite personnel involved in lifting operations.
• Carryout post job de-briefs if any learning points.
• Do periodic audits and reviews of non-critical and critical lifting plans.
• Organize periodic internal audits for project equipment in collaboration with
• Maintenance and Inspection team
• Be the focal point of authority for the safety and technical aspects of the lifting operations.
Requirements
• Degree with minimum 3 years similar working experience in Lifting on at least one major international Oil & Gas project
• Proficient in English Language and office software
• Be familiar with construction standards
• Able to relocate to Uganda
