Job description / Role
Guildhall, the region's leading executive search and recruitment firm, is currently looking for a highly experienced Senior Bending Engineer to join a 5-year pipeline EPC project with one of the world's largest EPC companies. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cold bend fabrication and pipeline installation. The role will be based on site in Uganda with an international management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and develop bending procedures in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Issue work orders and manage the cold bend fabrication process, ensuring that bends match up with the installed pipeline in the trench.
- Collect and maintain relevant documentation for release, such as bend reports, material certificates, and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure that bending activities are integrated into the overall pipeline installation process.
- Develop and maintain bending quality control and inspection procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve any bending-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for bending-related services and equipment.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in cold bending fabrication and pipeline installation.
- Strong technical knowledge of industry standards and procedures related to cold bend fabrication, including API 5L, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8.
- Proven experience in managing bending-related activities in large-scale EPC projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple stakeholders.
- A self-starter who can work independently and proactively.
- Familiarity with bending software and tools, such as AutoCAD and Pipe Bend Pro, is a plus.
- Must be willing to relocate to the project site in Uganda.
