Employment: Full Time

Client are an internationally market leading electronic element supplier. They provide a unique service offering to their customers in their ability to deliver engineering solutions in designing, manufacturing & distributing bespoke components, from individual pieces to mass production, in a mere 48 hours - in comparison to their competitors who deliver in 12 weeks. They operate across a variety of verticals including energy, medical, aeronautical & the armed forces.

They are currently recruiting for a Custom Assembly Designer to be responsible for reviewing, creating and successfully design of custom components, custom cable assemblies and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies. They will work closely with the applications engineering team, project management and customers to develop products and assemblies that will ultimately be used in customer systems. The daily activities will range from customer design review calls to creating the engineering drawings and process instructions to be used in those developments.

You will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £27,000 - £32,000 as well as other company benefits. Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
• Experience in cable/harness or connector assembly is required
• Proficient level with use of MS office and windows application
• A developing to proficient level of CAD use on software such as Pro-E, Solid Edge, Solidworks or AutoCAD
• Ability to read and create engineering drawings and process instructions
• Understanding of the basics of electrical/electronic principles and theory
• Ability to use various power tools, as well as measurement instruments such as digital multi-meters, electronic loads, hi-pot testers, micrometers, calipers, gauges and tachometers.
• Ability to operate relevant shop equipment
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Working knowledge of engineering documentation and process instructions with the ability to edit and update those documents
• Excellent communication skills – Verbal and written
