As a camp counselor, you will provide leadership and guidance for a group of campers. Participate in the general planning of the camp program. Assist Camp Program Supervisors and Directors with program activities. Under the supervision of the Camp Program Directors, plan and conduct programs in a specific program area for summer campers. Assist with all camp program activities and other camp-wide activities as assigned. Interpret safety and health regulations.
This is a 9 to 11-week employment program in the United States under a cultural exchange visa (J1). Only eligible candidates will be selected for this opportunity.
Note: Candidates must pay the job placement, Visa sponsorship, and work authorization fee in case of successful placement.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Attends and participates in staff orientation and ongoing training sessions throughout the summer.
• Responsible for the care and supervision of assigned campers.
• Assists program staff as needed during assigned activities and evening programs. This includes helping with swimming, horse/donkey grooming, sports, hiking, crafts, performing arts, and nature studies.
• On the last day of each session, assist in the cleaning and preparation of camp for the next incoming group of campers.
• In an emergency, assume responsibility for any job deemed necessary by the Camp Manager to ensure the safety of campers and staff.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is desired.
• Must agree to abide by Camp rules and policies.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Must be able to reside on camp premises when camp is in session.
• Students majoring in pedagogy, psychology, education, special needs education, and sports coaches are welcome to apply.
Salary:
USD
2,000 to 2,250
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
