We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contract & Claims Manager to join our team in Uzbekistan. In this pivotal role, you will oversee contract management and claims processes to ensure compliance and protect the company’s interests in the fast-paced oil and gas sector. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively negotiate, administer, and resolve contracts and claims, supporting our operational excellence and project success.
• Managing disputes, disagreements, and contract interpretations to ensure a favourable outcome for the company.
• Draft, review, interpret, and implement contractual terms and conditions.
• Monitor contract performance, and manage change orders, claims, and variations.
• Working closely with the Commercial department to ensure robust audit trails, and directing and advising senior management and technical representatives on commercial matters as they arise
• Support commercial, procurement, and project control teams in contractual issues.
• Providing legal advice as necessary to protect the company’s interests, and ensuring involved parties are made aware of any associated risks
• Maintain awareness of local laws and ensure contractual practices comply with Uzbek regulations.
• Demonstrate strong cross-cultural communication skills.
• Attending senior management meetings and submitting reports
• Leading and supporting initiatives to recover costs for the benefit of the company
• Mentoring commercial staff/procurement team
Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree is required as a minimum.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in claims management, commercial management, and/or legal departments with extensive exposure to oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial EPC projects.
• Proven understanding of international standard contracts, particularly FIDIC.
• Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and contractual risk management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in multicultural and cross-functional project teams.
• Proficiency in English is required; Russian or Uzbek language skills are preferred.
