Job Title: Associate / Senior Design Director - Interior Design

Position Description:
• Lead project teams to develop design concepts for projects.
• Investigate options and alternatives for interior design concepts.
• Fully develop interior design concepts and prepare with the project team documentation for authority submissions, tender and construction.
• Plan project and subordinate designer work flows.
• Assist with resourcing requirements and planning for studio projects.
• Clarify scope of work and prepare return brief for review.
• Review cost control for Interior Design projects.
• Mentor, train, supervise and manage senior and junior designers to produce good design and standard detailing.
• Ensure senior and junior designers adhere to the policy.
• Assist in marketing, business development and general representation of the company.
• Liaise with Design Director with regards to management and performance of the studio.

RELATED TASK:

Project Setup
• Collect briefing requirements and details of the project brief from the client.
• Finalize the client brief for approval and sign off with the Design Director for client approval.
• Assist in preparing the client service or turnkey contract in coordination with the Design Director.
• Review the fitout guide from the building owner.
• Prepare a list of documents to form the design documentation and working drawings package

Design
• Prepare sketch designs including perspectives and material selections etc.
• Coordinate regular internal design reviews and client reviews.
• Prepare drawing documentation after signing final design development by client
• Present the design concept to the client with the Project Director
• Prepare specifications and quantities of materials for the works.
• Coordinate with the project team to prepare tender and construction documentation for both interior and M&E work including details and specification.
• Coordinate with the client’s cost consultant /QS to develop and finalise budget details

Tender and Construction
• Coordinate the project team to develop details and cross check with other relevant documents (such as M/E) for construction purposes.
• Visit site to inspect the construction works and ensure compliance with the design and specifications
• Maintain a register of all contractor communications
• Issue information to the contractors in regards to RFI, additional details, site instructions and variations

IT
• Coordinate with the IT team to update the design database which includes 3D presentation images, AutoCAD Library, photographs, products and project

Marketing
• Assist BD to add and update information in the CRM including contacts categories.
• Assist in preparing appropriate proposals

Administration
• Coordinate the project team, train and supervise staff in technician team layering object naming and drawing guidelines, ensure adherence Revit Standards and project filing.

Quality
• To ensure that the Quality Management System is implemented and maintained and to evaluate where continual improvement can be made.

Corporate Management
• Assist the Design Director with the development and implement strategy in areas of responsibility.
• Assist the Design Director with recruiting, developing and managing the work performance and behaviour of employees in the studio.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Interior Design
• Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in design especially in high-end projects with HOSPITALITY /RESIDENTIAL AND RETAIL SECTORS.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use PC, CAD and REVIT
• Time management skills
• Ability to create and develop design detail
• Good in written and spoken English
