Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

International Architecture firm are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their Ho Chi Minh office in Vietnam. This firm has an established presence in UK and the Middle East, with large scale and award winning projects.

Delivery focused Architects, they have medium to large scale projects in the UK, Middle East and Asia and thus will offer a variety of locally and Internationally based projects for Architects and Technicians to get involved with from their Vietnam studio.

• Responsible for implementing the project plan and ensuring all items of project deliverables are delivered on time.
• Responsible for supporting the technical team in monitoring design and construction documentation and maintain technical excellence on all projects.
• Design Development Aiding the technical team with all aspects of design development. Support the design development of projects from concept to completion. Support for all local authority compliance and code compliance. Responsible for utilising correct design standards i.e. BS etc. Support all technical detailing of the project Responsible for meeting the brief from an operational and functional perspective. Support coordination with all sub consultant packages. Assist on all drawing packages to ensure full coordination and technical excellence is achieved prior to issue. Research suitable materials and construction systems in line with the architectural design intent to inform the documentation.
• Documentation Adhere to company standards. Ensure all documentation is as per company handbook. Ensure all documentation is as per local codes and regulations. Fill out time sheets by the close of business at the end of the working week ensuring the information is specific to both the project and project stage.
• Quality assurance Must have in depth detailed knowledge of local codes and regulations. Must have knowledge of building permit procedures. Ensure Job Captains agreed deadlines for documentation issue are met. Ensure all work is delivered to the correct standard and on time. Assist the Job Captain with the local authority submissions in accordance with the relevant local authority requirements. Be proactive and suggest improvements or amendments required to the systems. Provide technical excellence on projects
• Consultant Coordination Technical co-ordination assistance will be required. Mark up’s/details/options/suggestions to be provided to senior technologists for review/approval
• Technical Ensure that technical knowledge is up to date with: Standard construction techniques and details. Construction techniques and details typical to UK construction. Be aware of new construction practices and their impact on details. Share knowledge of construction detailing. Research different supplier’s details. Ensure knowledge of materials and systems are up to date and expanded on a project to project basis. Demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of the scope of works for the whole range of sub consultants. I.e. HVAC systems, lighting level coordination, acoustical requirements. Demonstrate knowledge of Client / Operators procedures and standards to enable the compliance of design. Ensure sub-consultants requirements are adequately incorporated in drawing packages. Assume responsibility for developing a specialist interest. For example, sustainable design, roof detailing, timber specifying, paint specifying etc. Ensure adequate knowledge of specifications in order to correctly annotate drawings. Ensure adequate English to ensure correct spelling and grammar on all documentation.
• Management Manage own time and assist colleagues and senior staff when time allows. Notify the relevant Job Captain as soon this deadline is not going to be met. Highlight potential coordination/technical issues to the Job Captain at the earliest possible stage. Provide overview / support of technical input on packages. Provide overview/support of technical input on the BIM models
• Resources Communicate to management if further resource required for tasks
• Planning Assist with the BIM strategies
• Operators skill and techniques Communicate quicker and better ways to produce information with colleagues b. Share knowledge of non-typical software programmes.
• Communication Ensure to have a constant communication with assigned project teams. Utilise email daily to communicate with team and sub consultants. Support senior technologist in office in communicating sound technical solutions across the office. Support Senior Technologists in oversees office communicating technical directions being given.
• Liaison Ensure constant liaison with the following: Sub-consultant ; Supplier; Manufacturer & Senior Technical Team

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in an Architectural Practice
• Degree in Architecture/Architectural Technology from a recognized international university
• CIAT registration preferred
• Strong proficiency in Revit self-motivated and flexible
• Report writing, communication and presentation skills
